Sharing The FUN With Teachers Across The USA

So Grateful To Get To Share:

How many ways can you compose to five?
Click the image to see this activity set.
I love getting to meet teachers across the country and share my message:
"Keep the FUN in the FUNdamentals!"
Adding FUN to EVERY Standard.

That is why I'm thrilled to be able to travel across our country and present workshops for teachers.

All set up and ready to share!
My favorite ones are the "Make & Take" sessions where teachers get to experience hands-on activities that they can take back to their classrooms.

Hands-On Learning!
Below, you will find a list of the conferences I scheduled for this year.
I present on ELA, Math, Social Studies, Science, Inquiry Based Learning, Questioning Strategies, Centers, and Keeping "Play" in Your Kindergarten Day!

Try to catch me, if you can, and experience a day of learning and inspiration.
And I can bring all of this to your school too!
And be sure to check out any added events like this Blogger Bash Pajama Party at the CA Kindergarten Conference last year.

Are These The Top 4 Skills Your Class Will Master This January AND What About Their Teacher?

These 4 skill sets are on  SALE for the New Year...

Phonics, sight words, writing, & math:
My favorite 3 Language Arts sets, plus my huge Numbers 1-10 set, are all on sale right now and through this New Year weekend! What a great way to welcome in 2017 and be ready for your "Littles" when school resumes in Jan.

January is the perfect time to focus on foundational Language Arts skills AND to review the numbers 1-10 before moving on to those tricky teens. Help your students to develop true conceptual understanding and build a firm foundation for the numbers 1-10. That will make the teens easier to understand.

1. All About Numbers 1-10: You get all of this for each number 1-10! The different templates allow you to differentiate and focus on specific skills. Great for RTI too.

2. Seasonal Journal Pages with Rubrics: You get the basic "pencil" rubric plus four additional templates, one for each season. Your students will love returning to school to a new "winter" journal. You can copy & bind these into a daily journal or use them one-at-a-time as needed.

3. Sight Word Pocket-Lockets: This makes a FUN small group lesson and can also be used to create an independent center. Just copy on colored construction paper, add scissors, glue, and some yarn to help your students create a pocket watch or a locket to wear home.

4. Alphabet Picture Cards and a template for a cute alphabet book: You can do one a week or one a day. Each page reinforces initial consonant and short vowel sounds.

Have you thought of attending a conference this January?

I'll be presenting at the PK1 Conference in Santa Clara, CA on Jan. 14 & 15.
You can read about all of the speakers and sessions by
And if you're on the East coast, you can catch me at
The SDE Conference for Tennessee Pre-K Teachers by

I hope you enjoy the sale and have a wonderful New Year!
See you all in 2017!

Guess What Happened While I Was In Wisconsin...

SNOW!!!

Yes, it snowed while I was presenting in Wisconsin! I was so excited!

Right outside the window of my presentation room.

Gorgeous, white snow was all around, but I was snug and warm in my presentation room where I presented on Math & Art, Emergent Writing, Addition & Subtraction, and Close Reading.

Wonderful Wisconsin Teachers!

The teachers in Wisconsin were delightful! They are troopers too! They weathered the snow and drove in for the conference even though it was a SNOW DAY for many of them!
Teachers placing numbers on a giant number line.

We had tons of fun creating paper beads, batik, nature prints, < = > Monsters,  Rekenreks, Subtraction Strips, pre-writing paper bag settings, and silly sentences to promote our emergent writers.
Number line fun.
I kept peeking out the window to see the snow outside my presentation room! What fun!
Taking another peek outside my window.

I'll be heading home in a few hours and then I'm off to Pasadena for the Southern CA Kindergarten Conference where I'm presenting on the importance of "Keeping Play in your Kindergarten Day" and "Re-telling Stories to Writing". I'll have a booth there and I'll be participating in the Blogger Bash. Can't wait! I'll be home soon where the temperature has been in the 80s. :)

Will I see you in Pasadena? Let me know in the comments and stop by my booth to say hi.

These Are A Few of My Favorite Things...

I Love My New Life!

Did you know that my 3 favorite things are...

1. My family
2. Traveling
3. All things "Kindergarten"

Okay, I also LOVE Disneyland, ice cream, and shopping
(and shopping at Disneyland while eating ice cream would be incredible),
but we can't have everything, right?

I am so grateful to be able to travel across the country and present staff development workshops to teachers.
I travel with a giant suitcase filled with tons of samples that teachers may photograph so they can make these too!

And I get to meet such great teachers who inspire me!
Exploring the properties of water with teachers at an SDE Conference in New England.

Teachers having fun learning at one of my workshops.

Although I miss teaching little ones, it is so rewarding to meet teachers from other states and share ideas about kindergarten.

And, did I mention that I also get to have fun and hang with some of my favorite presenters? We just had to check out the shopping at The Mall of America in Minnesota.
The mall was so beautiful! Did you know they even have an indoor rollercoaster?
And I also got to shop with Kathy Griffin in New Hampshire. We laughed so much!
This is an OUTDOOR mall. We were freezing!

What, no Ubers available???
I love flying and getting to see new places!

And when I'm done presenting, I get to return home to my wonderful husband.
After presenting in Minnesota & New Hampshire where it was COLD,
my husband picked me up at the airport in So Cal in our white convertible!

We love to travel and visit our three children. And in between traveling, I volunteer at our local elementary schools so I'm sure to get my kid fix. So, what can I say except, "Life is good."

So, where am I off to now?

I'll be in Santa Clara, CA at the California Kindergarten Association's PK1 Conference from Jan 15-17.
Click the image for more info.

The best part is the Blogger Pajama-Rama Event which will be held on Jan. 16.
Click the image for more info.

Attendees will get to meet lots of kindergarten bloggers, participate in several "Make & Take" activities, enter some very cool raffles, enjoy complimentary snacks, and they will each get a "goodie bag" filled with all sorts of fabulous stuff like a FREE digital copy of a project from each blogger!

This conference is sure to be a hit. There is a one-day pre-conference, the regular PK1 Conference, the Blogger Pajama-Rama event, and their annual Children's Art Happy Hour! You can get more information by CLICKING HERE.

Then, I'm off to Oklahoma where I will present one day, Feb. 1, at The Conference for Oklahoma Kindergarten Teachers and one day, Feb. 2, at The Conference for Oklahoma Pre-K Teachers.

Here is more info about both of these conferences:

I'll be presenting at this Kindergarten conference on Feb. 1.Click the image for more info.
