Can't Wait To Show My Students:
You can win this entire set.
They are going to LOVE this! |
First, I'll be sharing this product with teachers who attend my session on July 9 at I Teach K called "It's A Great Day For Science!" I'll be showing teachers how to integrate ELA and MATH into SCIENCE lessons so you don't have to skip science because you don't have time. (You can still register for I Teach K and get 10% off by using the code Nat10.)
This FUN product will help me teach so many things! You can watch the short YouTube video by clicking HERE.
The dinosaur set comes with all of these things! |
Then, I will introduce this set to my class on the first week of school. This will go perfectly on my Sensory Table and will go beautifully with my 5 Senses unit. (But we won't eat it!)
You can buy it in a kit like this one. |
It will also go well with my "Solid, Liquid, and Gas" unit. Is it a solid or a liquid? I can almost pour it! And is it really alive? I have seen it move!
This kit comes with all of these things! |
Where I Found Sands Alive:
I discovered this amazing sensory activity product at JoAnn's crafts, but it's also available online.
It's on sale right now at JoAnns and you can use your teacher discount on sale items!
You can also find it sold in bags without the tray and extra tools. |
You can also find it by clicking HERE. They also have a short video you can watch.
From the minute I touched it and discovered how soft and unusual it was I knew my students would be all over this!
It's soft and feels different from anything else you have ever felt. |
But best of all, it can sit out and it WON'T DRY OUT!!! How many times have you had to throw away dried out Play-Doh? Right?
Squeeze it to mold it into shapes. |
Sands Alive is clean, it won't stick to your hands or carpet, and it feels GREAT!
Tons of FUN! |

I heard about this amazing stuff earlier this spring. I know my kinder-bears would be so excited to use this sand in many different ways in the classroom. I have several students with very limited fine motor skills. Using this sand with moulds and free-form would be a fun way to strengthen little hands and fingers. At other times, this will be an incredible addition to our sensory boxes. I know my kinders will be using objects in our sensory tubs for models, too. Thanks for reminding me how much I want to add this to my class in the fall.
ReplyDeleteI would use this in my Ocean unit for sure. And in the Art Center. And I am sure I would find other places to use it, too. It looks like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI've heard about this but was skeptical of the mess...but maybe it's true? No mess??? I would love to use it at centers time!
ReplyDeleteThis product looks fabulous for my primary special ed students! I try to provide lots of sensory activities for them. I am so tired of dried out crumbles of play-doh and this looks like a great alternative!
ReplyDeleteI will use this amazing sand in my sensory table! I am sure the children will love it!
ReplyDeleteI am teaching summer school in a few weeks and my theme is "Under the Sea". This would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for this stuff everywhere! How many packages do you think it'll take to fill the bottom of a sensory bin? Maybe I can find a grant for this... :)
ReplyDeleteI bag is good. 2 are better. :)
DeleteI'd would replace my playdough at the alphabet center & at it to my sensory bin.
ReplyDeleteI would use this in my sensory table! What a great product!
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! I am SO intrigued by all the possibilities with this medium! I'm a special education teacher so my hands on learners will REALLY love this! I could use it for sight words, alphabet work...so many uses!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to buy this Sands Alive for my new TK classroom. Thanks for sharing this with us!
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! I would use this during the first few weeks back to school when we are talking about the Scientific Method! Thanks for the giveaway :)
ReplyDeleteWith my daughter! She is a science lover! This would be perfect for us!
ReplyDeleteI got some and love using it for my students. I had a student who was severely Autistic/ADDHD and had sensory integration issues. This was gold to him and I ended up getting $100.00 dollars worth so he was able to really explore with it. Well worth the investment-everyone made 3d shapes and then explored.
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, I got the brown kind and wanted this little self contained kit for table work, sooooooo:)
DeleteI will use this in my Science center. Fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteHi Palma,
ReplyDeleteIt's Tonya from over at The Way I Teach. I am your newest follower! Just want to say it was nice to hang out and chat with you at the TpT conference during "cocktail hour." It was nice meeting you.
