It's a Caligals Give-Away Blog Hop & Color-Coded Classroom Compulsion!

I'm So Excited To Be Part Of This Amazing Give-Away:

Find out more about how you can enter our huge Give-Away
after reading about this
FUN idea for using SitSpots to organize your centers:

I Love To Color Code EVERYTHING

Each day, the students at each colored table get to go to certain color-coded centers when they finish their table work.  They rotate through the centers each week:
On Monday, the Red Table goes to the Red Centers.
On Tuesday they go to the Orange Centers.
On Wednesday, they go to the Green Centers.
On Thursday they go to the Blue Centers.
And on Friday they go to the  Purple Centers.

I use these brightly colored SitSpots to color-code my classroom centers:
These 3 Purple SitSpots show students, who have a purple sign at their table, which 3 centers they may play at.

I place a special colored sign on each table and I rotate the signs each day so the children know exactly which color centers they will go to.
Today, the Purple Table gets to work at Orange Centers
because they have the Orange sign on their table.

I LoVe using my new SitSpots to label the centers by colors.  I can change the color of a center very easily, yet the SitSpots stay in place, even when the custodian vacuums!   Here is what some of the other centers look like with their SitSpots clearly identifying their color.
RED CENTERS:

Red Centers include the Science Magnets, the ELA Writing Center...
... and the Social Skills Home Center
ORANGE CENTERS:
The keyboard is an Orange Center.
The headphones allow the students to create music
 without disturbing the class.

The Computers are both Orange Centers, So is the SMART board.
GREEN CENTERS:

Math:  Leprechaun Gold Shop where students buy jewelry.

The Listening Center is a Green Center.  So is the Puzzles & Games Center.
BLUE CENTERS:
The classroom library is a Blue Center.  So is the painting easel and the
science Sink & Float center.

PURPLE CENTERS:

Purple Centers include everything on and under the counters.
Assigning daily centers eliminates over-crowded centers and encourages students to try all of the centers.  So, are you lovin' these SitSpots yet?

And just think of the possibilities:

You can write on these, so number lines would be a natural, right? You know, the kind the kids can hop or jump on when adding or subtracting across the number line on the carpet?

You Can Find SitSpots By Clicking HERE:

Just look at all of the cool shapes & colors these come in.

  34. I got these when I saw her in Vegas. I love them. My advice is to get something not pointy. I have stars (they maybe suns in the brochure). My points don't stay down as well after vacuuming. I've had mine on the floor since the beginning of the year. They are still in their spots, just the edges are starting to fray up a bit. I love them and had others order them and love them too.
