Your Littlest Learners Will LOVE to Create Silly Sentences!
Kids need to explore language before they can write, so let's have some FUN creating silly sentence that your students will beg to write!
Here is how: Use my "Instant Writing" packet with a small group of 6.
-Copy 1 page of noun graphics on pink paper.
-Copy 1 page of verb graphics on green paper.
-Copy 1 page of nouns for the predicate on blue paper.
-Have each child choose 1 pink, 1 green, & 1 blue graphic and glue them to their writing template page.
Use this "Extra Words" page to help each child complete their sentence. I copied one for each child.
If you copy it on cardstock and laminate it, just circle the words each child wants to use so they can copy them.
Here is a TK student who wrote her sentence: "The Lion finds money at the store."
Or, you can begin with the student telling you the silly sentence and YOU write it for them.
My students had more fun laughing after each child shared their silly sentence and they could not wait to take them home to share with their families.
After doing this lesson about 5 times with a variety of graphics (the set comes with 48 of each type of word) you can also create a center with a small set of laminated cards.
