Having these chairs filled with parents made me realize
that it would be nice to know which child belonged to
each parent.

It's "Back-to-School-Night" and your classroom is packed with parents.  They each take turns approaching you to ask a question or to see how their child is doing.  You look deeply at each face searching for a clue, a familiar attribute that you might have seen in the face of one of your students.  Your heart starts to pound as you realize that you have no clue who this parent is.

Wouldn't it be nice if each parent wore a name tag that clearly displayed their child's name and photograph?
